Hakopod
& CapRover.
For app-oriented deployments using captain-definition, a CLI, webhooks, and one-click templates.
Do you prefer configuring each app separately?
Compare the per-app build definition and runtime settings with a multi-service application file. Try the networking and persistent-data workflow you expect to operate.
01 Workload runtime
Hakopod
K3s runs the workloads. A Go API and reconciler keep accepted operations and history in PostgreSQL.
CapRover
Applications run as Docker services. The app configuration exposes instance counts and persistent-app node placement.
02 Source to deployment
Hakopod
Deploy an image or sync a TOML path from GitHub or GitLab. Dockerfile and buildpack builds run through configured provider CI.
CapRover
Use the CLI, a source archive, a prebuilt image or a repository webhook. Source builds are described by captain-definition.
03 Describing related services
Hakopod
One application TOML describes services, resource profiles, network membership, mounts and secret references. Review changes before deployment.
CapRover
Each app has a captain-definition for its build or image, plus runtime settings in the dashboard. One-click templates can configure common applications.
04 Configuration and credentials
Hakopod
Plain variables live per service. Secret values are stored separately and bound by scoped references in reviewed TOML.
CapRover
Runtime environment variables are editable per app. Build-time access requires explicit Dockerfile ARG configuration.
05 Private connections
Hakopod
Application-local networks and project/environment-scoped virtual segments connect selected services. Explicit peer rules restrict declared destination ports.
CapRover
Applications reach one another by service name within the Captain cluster. Host port mappings are needed for direct connections from outside it.
Check the details.
Based on the official documentation checked on 13 September 2026. These are workflow differences, not performance rankings. Hakopod is a development release and its shared Cloud service is planned. Editions, licenses and hosted pricing can change; confirm the current terms with each project.
